Commentary at the close: MBS hugged the flatline for most of the session as traders squared up positions ahead of the Sunday elections in France. Today's strong Existing Home Sales also capped mortgage bond prices. The 3.5% Fannie Mae 30-yr coupon closed at 102.84, -6bp. Stocks closed with minor losses. The Dow fell 30.95 points to 20,547.76, the S&P fell by 7.15 points to 2,348.69, while the NASDAQ was lower by 6.25 points to end the week at 5,910.52. WTI oil fell by $1.09 to settle at $49.62/barrel and down nearly 7% for the week as the markets doubt OPEC production cuts. 10-yr T Note was unchanged at 2.24%. Next week investors will receive first quarter Gross Domestic Product, which is supposed to be weak. Have a great weekend!
