Below is the news when it happened and market reaction. All times are Eastern Standard Time

12:49 PM - At midday, MBS unchanged, Stocks slightly higher. 10-yr yield 1.55%. WTI oil reverses now at $40.87/barrel, +$1.37.

11:25 AM - ISM Services for July 55.5, near inline and had little impact on trading.

11:10 AM - Not much movement in Stock and Mortgage Bond prices.

10:36 AM - Crude inventories decline, WTI oil reverses and pushes into positive territory. Stocks briefly went flat, now back in positive territory also.

10:26 AM - The Fannie 3% 30-yr coupon falls below support at the 25-day Moving Average (103.75).

10:14 AM - The Dow, S&P and Nasdaq edge into positive territory. MBS flat.


 9:32 AM - Stocks open slightly lower.

 8:40 AM - The MBA reports that the average contract rate for 30-yr fixed mortgages with jumbo loan balances (greater than $417K) decreased to 3.65% from 3.67%.

 8:39 AM - The MBA reports that the average contract rate for 30-yr fixed mortgages with conforming loan balances ($417K or less) decreased to 3.67% from 3.69%.

 8:38 AM - Not much reaction to the ADP data though MBS edge into positive territory.

 8:30 AM - U.S. dollar index 95.19, +0.20.

 8:15 AM - ADP reports 179K private jobs created in July vs the 165K expected. June revised to 176K from 172K.

 8:14 AM - S&P futures slightly lower.

 8:12 AM - 10-yr yield 1.54%.

 8:12 AM - WTI oil edges higher by $0.26 to $39.77/barrel.

 8:11 AM - The MBAs refinance index -4%, purchase index -2%.

 8:09 AM - The MBAs Market Composite Index, a measure of total mortgage loan application volume, fell 3.5% in the latest week.

 8:08 AM - MBS open near unchanged ahead of the 8:15 a.m. ET release of the July ADP Private Payrolls Report.

 8:08 AM - It is expected that private payrolls rose 165K last month.
